Dr. de Armas has been a licensed veterinarian in Florida since 2007, where he has established a successful career in exotic animal practice. Educated at the Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas in Cuba, Dr. de Armas’s rigorous training culminated in a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000. Being studious of his profession, he has continued to expand his professional development and expertise, achieving a General Practitioner Certificate in Exotic Animal Practice acquired through the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (I.S.V.P.S.) in 2023.
A true lifelong learner, Dr. de Armas systematically participates in various professional development opportunities, ranging from ExoticsCon to the A.C.Z.M. annual conferences. Regularly acquiring new knowledge and skills in reptile, avian, and exotic animal medicine, therapeutics and surgery, reflecting his dedication to providing the best possible care for exotic species.
His skill set is varied and extensive, encompassing minimally invasive endoscopies, orthopedic surgeries, and advanced dentistry procedures. His expertise extends to pain management, animal nutrition, and husbandry, particularly in avian, reptilian, and exotic mammalian species.
